Holidays In Spain

What You Should Know Before Going on a Holiday in Spain

There a number of things that you need to know before you go on a holiday in Spain. Most of these things are things are very basic, but important to run by so that you do not forget something important in all the excitement.

Documents Required Upon Entry to Spain

Citizens of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and the Liechtenstein are not required to present a travel visa when holidaying in Spain. In lieu of the travel visa, residents from these countries are merely required to present their Identification card or valid passport. For children who are traveling with their parents, an identification card is also required.

However, for children who are traveling with family members other than their parents, a document showing parental authorization for the travel is required. To make sure that your child will not help held in the airport and your nanny or other members of the family taken in for questioning, make sure that the person traveling with your child has the proper documents stating they are allowed to travel with your child.

Bringing a Pet on Your Spain Holiday

When traveling with a pet during your holidays in Spain, you will need to comply with a series of health examinations required for pets entering into the Spanish territory. The tests required for pet may vary depending on the country of origin of the pet. Note that there are some countries that are not very strict when it comes to vaccinations against rabies so the if you come from a country where rabies vaccination is not strong monitored by the government, your pet may be required to get a vaccine before it can enter Spain.

Pets that are less than three months old are not allowed to enter the country. Therefore, if your pet is less than three months old, it is better to leave it with a reliable caretaker at home. There is really no point of ruining your holiday in Spain by having your beloved pet impounded somewhere outside the borders of Spain.

If you plan to do some driving during your holidays in Spain, you need to have the proper documents with you. For citizens of the European Union, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, a valid driver’s license issued by their country is enough for them to legally drive during their holiday in Spain.
